Steghide

The classic steganography extractor. `steghide info` reports whether a carrier holds embedded data, `steghide extract -sf file -p pass` recovers it, and `steghide embed` hides a file in a cover. StegSeek ships alongside for wordlist-driven passphrase recovery.

Reads the authored carrier model for a simulated file. No codec runs and no real image or audio is decoded; recovered payloads are written back into the simulated filesystem.

Install it

The scripts below install the real Steghide project package on your own machine — read them first, and run them somewhere you are allowed to change. Inside the range, one press puts the simulated package on your next machine.

On a range machine

Add it to your kit and every machine you launch comes with it.

On Linux

Refresh the package lists
